Kickstart My Size-Chart

Have you ever been frustrated by trying to figure out your internet size?
Or even more frustrated trying to figure out your partner’s cyber size?

Don’t give up… we have the answers to all Lingerie Sizes!

Although it may seem like a mountain of a task for a first time online lingerie purchase, if accomplished successfully it can be very rewarding for years to come! Here are some of the rewards;
1. Buying in the privacy of your own home. Who wants to buy Lift It Tape for saggy breasts or Butt Enhancers for the less plump in public?
-“Excuse me ma’m could you please tell me what aisle I can find a sexy crotchless open bust black lace teddy?” –enough said!
2. Save money. Without the retail brick and mortar expenses, e-tailers have less overhead and get to cut costs which are directly put back into your pocket… or should we now say back into your PayPal?
 3. Shop at your own convenience, without the hassle of long lines, busy parking lots, or emotionally unstable sales clerks.

GETTING STARTED (If you are a man looking for your woman’s size – go steal some clothes from her closet that are worn frequently and start reading the tags!)
Rule number one: When buying lingerie, be aware that lingerie runs small. We are talking about delicate little pieces of hardly sewn together fabrics meant to cover next to nothing so it’s naturally small!
Rule number two: If you are in between sizes and unsure, always go up a size never down.

Sizes to choose from when shopping for Lingerie online include:

One Size –  Play It Safe! A ‘One Size’ fits “most” means that the garment is probably a stretchy lace material or is adjustable in several ways. This is the safest size to buy, our favorite size to sell and has a 99% success rate.
Most manufacturers will say it fits most 90-160lbs however our experience tell us that it’s more like 100-150lbs.

Queen Size - This is the ‘One Size for Plus Sizes’ that fits most 150-250lbs. It will stretch or adjust to fit most 1X, 2X and 3X.

The chart below has been helping our customers with exact measurements for over six years.

XS – Misses size 0-2
Small - Misses size 2-4 and dress sizes 6-8
Medium – Misses size 4-6-8 and dress sizes 10-12
Large – Misses size 6-10-12 and dress sizes 12-14
XL/1X – Misses size 16-18
XXL/2X – Misses size 20-22
XXXL/3X – Misses size 22-24
XXXXL/4x – Misses size 24-26
S/M – This is both a small and medium and will stretch or adjust to fit both
M/L – This is both a medium and large and will stretch or adjust to fit both.
1X/2X – This is both a 1X and 2X and will stretch or adjust to fit both.
2X/3X – This is both a 2X and 3X and will stretch or adjust to fit both.
3X/4X – This is both a 3X and 4X and will stretch or adjust to fit both.

Bras – These little wonders require hard hot facts.  If you are buying a bra there are two facts you need to know, what size band and what size cup.
Band + Cup = Size  or  36 + C = 36C
A band is the part that goes around the rib cage and is measured 32, 34, 36, 38, 40, 42, 44 and 48.
The cup sizes range from A, B, C, D, DD, DDD and so on. You then combine the two and voila`… a size is born!  I am a 32DDD if you must know.

Corsets – The only thing you need to know is the band size. Just like the bra, the corset is usually sold by the band width of your under breast circumference. The reason you do not need the cup size (like the bra) is because a corset is usually adjustable at the bust and waist with a back ribbon. You can pull it tight for optimal cleavage or take it out for subtle cleavage.

Shapers – A shaper will not physically measure according to the size chart… why? Because it’s a shaper by golly! It’s supposed to lift, shift, suck, tuck and hide! You must buy them as you would your regular size and allow them to do their job. If you are feeling unsure what’s the lingerie rule number two? ALWAYS GO UP A SIZE IF YOU ARE UNSURE!

Hosiery – 95% of thigh highs and pantyhose listed on the internet are either One Size Misses or One Size Queen. The same weight requirement applies as according to our size definitions above but if you are taller than average or above 5’7 you may consider the Queen.

Some things to be aware of:
Pick your SELLER CAREFULLY! There are plenty of other countries trying to sell to the American market who may not understand American sizes. Do not skimp on a measly $3 to sacrifice quality. Nine times out of nine you will get burned.  I cannot tell you how many times Amazing Lace Outlet, an online lingerie industry leader, receives samples from manufacturers that do not meet our expectations.  If you want good results the first time pick a seller with standards!
“UH-OH!  I thought I would fit into a small but now that I’ve opened my package I’m totally going to need a large” – yes we all have these moments and we get it all the time. Whatever you do, do not put it on your caboose if you think you want to exchange it and contact your seller immediately! Sometimes even manufacturers make sizing mistakes without the seller ever knowing.

I hope that my Guide on Lingerie Sizes has helped you.  I thank you for the opportunity to share my seven years of experience and expertise acquired operating Amazing Lace Outlet. We would be honored if you shopped with us!
